About Me: Specialist ADHD Assessment and Diagnosis & Adapted CBT Therapy
Beyond the Diagnosis: Understanding the ADHD Brain
For many, the path to an ADHD diagnosis is paved with years of being misunderstood. You may have spent a lifetime feeling like you are “working twice as hard to achieve half as much,” or perhaps you have become a master of “masking”—hiding internal chaos behind a polished exterior.
I founded The ADHD & CBT Clinic because a diagnosis should be more than just a label. I provide the clinical experience and specialised insight necessary to understand how neurodiversity fundamentally shapes your identity, your relationships, and your self-worth.
A Foundation of Clinical Excellence
I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist currently practicing within the NHS. This accreditation demonstrates a high standard of training and experience in psychological therapy within the UK, signifying a commitment to ethical integrity and evidence-based practice. To ensure my practice remains aligned with the continually evolving clinical research in neurodevelopmental science, I engage in monthly specialist ADHD clinical supervision. This ensures my diagnostic and therapeutic work is constantly reviewed by experts in the field, providing you with care that is both compassionate and clinically rigorous.
From the Frontlines to Specialist Care
My approach is shaped by over a decade of experience within complex and challenging environments in the Probation Service, working across Courts and Prisons. It was here that I saw the raw reality of untreated neurodiversity. I observed how ADHD often manifests as chronic impulsivity in men, while remaining “masked” behind emotional dysregulation in women. Driven by a need to support those overlooked by traditional systems, I developed trauma-informed initiatives, including a multi-agency project for women in the justice system. This work taught me that ADHD is rarely just about “focus”—it is about how a person navigates a world that wasn’t built for their brain.
Specialist ADHD Expertise
While I treat a range of conditions—including PTSD, OCD, and Social Anxiety, my core mission is bridging the gap between diagnosis and recovery through: Specialist Diagnosis: Trained through the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) to provide thorough, quality-assured diagnostic evaluations. Adapted CBT: I provide Adapted CBT for ADHD, which accounts for executive dysfunction and emotional regulation. Standard CBT can often feel like a “fail” for ADHD brains; I ensure therapy works with your neurobiology, not against it. Identity & Self-Worth: A lifetime of “hidden struggles” often leaves a trail of low self-esteem. I specialize in helping clients dismantle these shame narratives and rebuild their sense of self.
